Softmart asks, Panch Kiya Kya?
Monday, October 26, 2009

These may be difficult times for many distributors but Softmart Solutions is not letting that stop them from coming out with innovative ideas to drive their business. The distributor has announced a number of schemes for its dealers. Speaking about the initiative, Alok Gupta, CEO, Softmart Solutions said, "These are challenging times and you have to rack your brain to come out with innovative ideas. You have to come up with innovative ideas on how to get close to customers while maximizing value."

While last month saw the disti take partners who qualified for a scheme to the screening of Dil Bole Hadippa, last week the company took about 85 plus channel partners and their families to watch All The Best. "It was an innovative way to interact with partners and their families and it was a good movie for the occasion," commented Gupta.

Softmart Solutions has a vast portfolio of products from 87 companies out of which about 10 are anti-virus products. To make the channel aware of its vast portfolio Softmart Solutions has launched another scheme starting this week called Panch Kiya Kya? As per the scheme, partners will get an assured gift of a gold coin with the purchase of five products from five different companies. The aim of the scheme is to encourage distis to learn about the different software available with Softmart Solutions. "Our strength is variety and we want to pass that on to our dealers. We want to get them to experiment, and have a wide variety so that they never have to say no to a customer. They need to find out what their customers want and have that option available," stressed Gupta.

The minimum value of the scheme would be about Rs 1,000-1,500 since partners can buy products at about Rs 250 each from five different companies.

Softmart Solutions also has a five-plus-one scheme going on for Kaspersky software through which all small resellers are eligible to get one box free on the purchase of five. On the idea behind the scheme, Gupta said, "We are trying to encourage small dealers to buy from our stockist who will sell in lots of five."

The scheme is applicable through all channel partners of Softmart Solutions, the exclusive disti of Kaspersky in the North region.
