New Delhi, Oct 11
The Rajasthan Government is planning to transform Jaipur into a
Wi-Fi city by providing Internet access in the entire city. Digital
infrastructure will be created to facilitate open-air Internet access as per the
project. This will enable exploiting merits of the wireless technology in
accomplishing their goals, while providing visitors to the city a world-class
experience.
The government has already invited proposals from service
providers to deliver turnkey solutions that will facilitate the installation of
wireless network. In the proposal, service providers are expected to project
their technological and financial strengths, technological approach, and
proposed business model.
The proposals will serve as a base for the government to
formulate a policy that will enable private service providers to install
wireless network across the city.
