Erode IT Dealers Association (EDITA) recently organized a seminar on e-filing
of VAT along with the Commercial Tax Department and Federation of All Traders
Association, Erode. The event saw about 500 participants from Erode, Tiruppur,
Namakkal, Karur, and other adjoining areas.
TK Chandrasekar, President, EDITA, and Balakrishnan, immediate Past
President, EDITA, took the initiative of organizing this event. All the members
of EDITA with their uniforms on, were present at the seminar . The content
creation and presentation was handled by Global Edge Training Academy. The
content focused on giving step-by-step instructions to file the returns and
explaining the simplicity of filing online.
Presentation on filing returns and making e-payments online was given by CSN
Raja, Honorary Advisor of EDITA and Director of Global Edge Training Academy.
Sivanesan, President, Federation of All Traders Association even gave an
elaborate lecture on VAT.
During the Q&A session Raja clarified doubts raised by the participants on
VAT, while Vayana Perumal, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, handled other
tax-related questions. Sundaram, Deputy Commissioner, and a team of commercial
tax officers were also present.

Raja, commented, "This seminar was well received and appreciated by all the
participants and the government officials as well. Going forward, most of such
filing/payments are going to be made online only. All the dealers should prepare
themselves for that."
Currently, State Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, and Bank
of Baroda are offering services to make e-payments online.
Appreciating the content, the government dignitaries present at the event
have asked Global Edge Training Academy to append more data to the content which
will be used for other similar programs in other districts.
A booklet and a CD of the presentation were released during the seminar by
Benjamin, RDO of Erode. VK Rajamanickam, Treasurer, Federation of All Traders
Association and also a member of EDITA delivered the vote of thanks.
