Himachal Pradesh
government is
reconsidering some companies that have a good success rate, in so far as setting
up a quality IT park is concerned.
The government is also considering changes in existing RFP norms. These may lead
the government to defer its present date of bidding for a tender.
HP government had floated a RFP for setting up IT Park cum Township in Solan
district of the state last month and kept aside around 64 acres for the same.
"We want our existing agenda for setting up an IT park in the state to be
flawless. Members from our department have discussed them with the tender
committee," said a senior official from the Department of Information Technology
(DoIT), Himachal Pradesh.
He said the government is considering giving some relaxation to developers
provided it is in the good interest of the IT companies. He pointed out that
developers have made many suggestions but the government is considering only
giving them some relaxation in the time-line of four years for the development
of the complete IT Park.
The DoIT official also said that in the process they are re-looking at some
of the successful IT park models floated by other state governments to ensure
that Himachal government plan for IT Park is flawless.
