Dell, MS to provide integrated solutions to Indian enterprises

Dell and Microsoft recently an-nounced a large account reseller (LAR) agreement to provide integrated technology solutions to Indian enterprises.

Under the agreement, the two companies will offer core infrastructure and business productivity solutions with a focus on the banking and financial services (BFSI), government; IT enabled services (ITeS) and manufacturing verticals.

Globally, Dell and Microsoft have developed a strong relationship. Dell is a Microsoft original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for Windows desktop operating system, Office, Windows server and SQL server and a hardware provider for Microsoft unified communications solutions. Both companies have been working together to provide customers with scalable, stable and cost-effective solutions.

According to a Dell statement, to provide high-value integrated solutions to customers, Dell has further enhanced its support and service teams in India, improved its capabilities of imple­-­­menting and deploying solutions and support, and strengthened technical support and service for Windows server, SQL server, exchange server, Unix/Linux migration, system management server and Microsoft operations manager. The statement further said that Dell will provide its single-point of accountability, support service network that spans over 630 cities in India to support enterprises on a real-time basis.

“An increasing number of enterprises request a total solution from their vendor when they build their IT infrastructures, from hardware and software to professional services,” said Rajan Anandan, VP and GM, Dell India. “The standards-based industry-leading software products and solutions offered by Microsoft have been widely recognized in the global marketplace. Microsoft product and solutions are core components of what Dell's customers purchase from us. Today's announcement will deepen the cooperation and strengthen complementary advantages of Dell and Microsoft in the large and medium sized enterprise. It will play a significant role in our commitment to provide customers with the best experience through cutting-edge standard technologies,” added Anandan.
