PCS Technology bags Railways project

PCS Technology has announced that it has bagged a project from the Center For Railway Information Systems (CRIS), an umbrella company for all computer activities on Indian Railways. The estimated value of the project is about Rs 1.6 crore. The project includes the supply, installation and warranty maintenance of zonal and database servers, thin clients, dot matrix printers and scanners. The installations spread over 18 locations also offer solutions for UPS, mailing and messaging solutions.

CRIS developed in-house, a Web based Claim Application on ORACLE database and Apache tomcat, Cognos Re-porting tools, WAP techno-logies etc. PCS Technology has customized this to run on HP Itanium Servers with ORACLE 10g database Server, on Red hat Linux Advance Server and on PCS Xeon Windows 2003 server as Zonal servers , thin clients and Mithi Connect mail messaging multi-lingual solution.

Yash Bharadwaj, Senior VP, Marketing PCS Technology said " PCS has won this project from CRIS amongst tough competi-tion. This win represents the start of an important rela-tionship between the two organizations. PCS Technology with its technical expertise can help CRIS serve its customers. The project once completed will enable CRIS customers file their claim any where any time and get the status of their claim online"." This is a multi-lingual, web based solution," he added.
