Landis+Gyr Ltd, ('Land- is+Gyr'), maufactu-rer of heat
and elec-tricity meters for optimized energy procurement and loss
identification, has imple-mented Oracle Applications to increase production
efficiencies, build better products and control costs.
Landis+Gyr has imple-mented Oracle Financials, Oracle
Procurement and Oracle Order Management modules from Oracle's App-lications
suite of products- Oracle E-Business Suite-at its production facility at
Joka, West Bengal.
"The implementation of the Oracle applications is part
of a long-term strategy to integrate key business processes and create an
infrastructure for effective planning that will ensure Landis+Gyr's ability to
produce high quality prod-ucts at economical costs," said Arindam Datta,
MD, Landis + Gyr. "This Oracle applications implementation will not only
result in better operational controls which will improve our bottom line but
also provide timely and meaningful information to the management to enable
informed decision making," he added.
According to the press release, with the implemen-tation of
Oracle applications Landis+Gyr can look for-ward to benefits like improved
monitoring of manufacturing variances, reduced inventory, reduced sourcing
process, better internal controls and management information sys-tem, better
product schedul-ing as per market require-ments, monthly and weekly production
and material plan-ning and better performance management of individual
production divisions.
